CITY OF OJAI ARTS GRANT APPLICATION: Deadline Monday, Sept. 18, 2017
The City of Ojai Arts Commission is proud to announce that applications for the 2018 City of Ojai Art Grant Program are available as of July 20. The Commission anticipates awarding $25,000 in grants in 2018.
“We had a really exciting group of projects last year and are hoping to draw in even more artists and arts organizations in this year’s grant cycle,” said Christine Golden, City of Ojai Arts Grants Committee Chair. “We make this an easy process for all qualified individuals and encourage anyone out there with a project to consider applying,” she said.
The program is designed to fund individual artists and non-profit organizations that produce or present the arts and/or cultural programs that primarily benefit the City and Ojai’s residents. The program has helped many organizations and individuals produce successful arts and cultural programs that otherwise might not have occurred due to lack of funding. 2017 recipients included the Ojai Film Society, the Ojai Youth Entertainers Studio, Focus on the Masters and the Lineage Dance Studio. Michael Addison, Chair of the City of Ojai Arts Commission, said “our grant program is built on one idea — create an opportunity for artists to leap into that project they’ve dreamed of.”
Requirements include that grantees provide a dollar-for-dollar match for the amount requested funding and must complete their project within 2018. For guidelines and applications CLICK HERE, or they can be picked up at Ojai City Hall, 401 S. Ventura Street. All completed applications must be received at Ojai City Hall (mailing address P.O. Box 1570, Ojai CA 93024) by 5:00pm Monday, September 18, 2017 for the 2018 calendar year. Postmarks will not be accepted.
