The City of Ojai supports (when funds are available) grants to art organizations, Artist Mentor Programs as well as awards for individuals contributions to the Ojai Community. Read further to find out more!

Grant Programs

The City of Ojai is proud to offer Art Grants each year as the budget allows. Many organizations who either reside in the valley or work in the valley have benefited residents and visitors alike with their grant funds.

The Artist Mentor Program

The City of Ojai’s Arts Commission selects area high school students to partner with Ojai artists for a summer intern program. Along with the necessary funding from the City, additional funds have been granted by the Ojai Education Foundation.

The artists and students are required to partner for no fewer than 50 hours of one-on-one instruction. The session is then followed by a fall show presenting the student artists work.

Awards

The Arts Commission recommends to the City Council individuals or organizations to be recognized for service in the arts community. There are two awards: the Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award and the Hope Frazier Award. The Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award is given annually and the Hope Frazier Award is awarded as deemed appropriate by the Commission.
